Hello,

My name is Astrid Moran, and I am a first-generation to be able to attend college in America. I am a very outgoing person. I like being around people and having a vibe. I am studying Biology and getting a bachelor’s in science. I want to minor in psychology, Spanish, and Chinese. I choose this career path because ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being like my pediatrician, I fell in love with the way she did her job, and I liked being in her office. I also loved being in the medical field. I feel as if it is something that I want to do for the rest of my life. I will also be the first in my family to be in the medical field, most of them are accountants or in the business. I never had an interest in that. I feel like being in the medical field, and I can give back to my community and feel like I am doing something good. As a child, I always liked helping and giving back. By being in the medical field, I feel like I will do something for the most needed and myself. I want to accomplish how to communicate with people without having a feeling of shyness, and I want to be able to network into my future job and being able to be myself. I also want to be able to leave college with some knowledge in almost every field. My plans after college are to go to medical school and having a degree; I want to help my family and give back to them. I am not sure what in the medical field I want to be in, but I hope to find out during my time at college. I hope that my interest in the medical field increases even more. I want to do internships and getting closer to what I want to do.
